About the doubles, the former WB executive who commissioned this release had this to say about them :
The people who pressed the records (Fitzgerald Hartley in Los Angeles) had some copies that didn't pass their quality control. Those weren't shipped to WB, but were probably kept in storage. When their inventory was sold, they got on the market as well. The inventory was sold to Rockaway Records in LA.

We also found out a little more info about the other strange copies :
There are 2 unnumbered copies, they were going to be used in Princes NPG store in Minneapolis - for promotional use.
There's also an unlabelled copy : testruns are known to exist of all stages of making a record. It's quite normal to have unfinished copies getting out from time to time.
We (Yormeister) have seperate labels for numbers 002 up to 007. They could have been intended for either the grey vinyl copies or the white vinyl copies.
